Regiment Number 29245

Terence was an Aeronautic Engineer who saved a Dacota, the lives of the crew and passengers on a flight from Darwin to Perth in 1944.

The Dacota hit an air pocket causing an engine, which was strapped down, to break loose and slide backwards.

Terence quickly organised six men to help him push the engine back and told everyone else in the Dacota to move forward.

They managed to get the engine back in place and strapped down again.

When they landed at Broome Airport, the Pilot put his arm around Terence’s shoulder and said, “I think we could do with a drink.”
