I was born on the 6.9.1925 and on my 18th birthday applied to join the R.A.A.F. for aircrew duties. Told I was “colour blind” and not able to be in aircrew – on the 30.10.1943 I was in the R.A.A.F. as an ACI. Trained in Busselton, posted to a store depot in Perth. Later sent to Alice Springs, learned discipline and respect and good teamwork.
