Edith Bolton (nee Aylmore)

Born at Tambellup, Western Australia on 10-6-1924. Left school at the age of 14, worked in tearooms as a housemaid.

Enlisted at the age of 18 in the W.A.A.F. as a cook on 31-10-1942. Did my rookie course at Busselton W.A., was trained as a cook at Mounts Bay Road, Perth. Sent to Geraldton, No 4 SFTS as a cook in the officer’s mess for almost 3 years. When the station was closed, posted to Merredin Air Drome until my discharge on 14-3-1946. Returned home then went to Fremantle Technical College for training as a dressmaker. Paid by Rehabilitation by Government in 1948.
